The interior is flexible, and it can be presented as a mobile printspace, theatrical space, or gallery/shop space. With the woodburning stove lit, it's a comfy space to work, to read, to create. 12v sockets provide lighting and power for equipment on the road.
Mobile Printspace
The Boxroom as a mobile printspace provides facility to explore printing using lovely vintage equipment - to enjoy handmade printing in a small and sociable space, and to share creative prints with with other Boxroom participants. As a mobile resource it places craft and creating into unexpected environments, providing an opportunity to make unplanned art.
Theatrical Space
As a theatrical space to experiment with preformative drawing and shadow theatre, The Boxroom makes a magical and curious mirroscope projection space. Behind tassled velvet curtains, drawings can be projected and shadow silhouettes can be presented - narrative and public art can be created using The Boxroom as a mini magic lantern theatre.
